About our Referral Program

At WalkerHughes Insurance, there is no higher compliment than a referral.  A referral indicates that we have met the mark for our customers and that they are satisfied with the service provided.  We are pleased when our customers trust us enough to recommend us to those closest to them.  We know how important friends and family members are, and we promise to treat yours as if they were our own! 

For every customer referring friends and family members to complete a no-obligation insurance review us, we will send you a $5 Starbucks e-gift card to treat you to a coffee or a cake pop if that is what you prefer!  As part of our referral program, we will also make a matching $5 donation to our agency’s ‘Charity of the Quarter’.  The purpose of this program is to help organizations close to the hearts of our employees while providing our customers the opportunity to not only receive a coffee on us, but to also help a worthy cause by referring their friends and family.  In addition, this also gives us the opportunity to promote awareness of these organizations in our communities through our online presence. 

Why Second Helpings?

Second Helpings was nominated by not one, but TWO WalkerHughes team members.  With many charitable organizations throughout the state of Indiana to choose from, we were very excited to have an organization receive multiple nominations.  Ryan Gibbons, Network Administrator for WalkerHughes Insurance based out of our Carmel office, has supported Second Helpings in the past as a part of Indianapolis’s local music community.  The large fundraiser he has participated in years prior was unable to be held due to COVID-19 and when prompted, Second Helpings was the very first organization to come to mind.  Pam Clark, Customer Service Agent for WalkerHughes Insurance based out of our Lebanon office, and her husband have donated to Second Helpings for years.  She is impressed with their plans in place to rescue food that would otherwise be wasted and their programs to train culinary professionals.  Both Pam and Ryan along with the rest of the WalkerHughes team were excited to learn that Second Helpings was named ‘Charity of the Quarter’. 

When we announced the selection of Second Helpings to the WalkerHughes team, we discovered several additional employees had connections to the organization.  Learning about friends, family members and the stories and experiences of our team members make programs like this a lot of fun for us! 

About Second Helpings

Second Helpings operates a three-part approach when it comes to addressing hunger and poverty in Central Indiana.  They integrate Hunger Relief, Food Rescue, and Culinary Job Training to help Hoosier families in need.  In 2020, Second Helpings rescued 3.4 million pounds of surplus food from wholesalers, grocers, restaurants, and caters while Hunger Relief prepared and delivered 1.8 million meals to serve tremendous need in the community.  Our support of Second Helpings through our referral program will go towards continuing those efforts as well as their job training program.  Second Helpings trains unemployed or underemployed food service professionals to prepare them for promising careers in the culinary industry.  WalkerHughes Insurance is proud to support Second Helpings mission of ‘Transforming Lives through the Power of Food’.

• WalkerHughes Customers: If a friend or family member mentions insurance woes or you think we could be of assistance to them, please send them our way!  We’ll send you an e-treat, hopefully help out your friend or family member by providing them with a no-obligation insurance review and then make a $5 donation to Second Helpings. 
• Friends and Family of Second Helpings: If you or any members of your team would like to review their insurance options with our team, let us know!  Simply mention ‘Second Helpings’ and we’ll document that in our system and include a $5 donation to Second Helpings for every referral. 
• WalkerHughes Employees, Friends, Family and Community Members: Please help us spread the word!!  We will have promotional material on our social media pages, if you could like, comment, or share that would help us increase our reach and get the word out.
