About our Referral Program

At WalkerHughes Insurance, there is no higher compliment than a referral.  A referral indicates that we have met the mark for our customers and that they are satisfied with the service provided.  We are pleased when our customers trust us enough to recommend us to those closest to them.  We know how important friends and family members are, and we promise to treat yours as if they were our own! 

For every customer referring friends and family members that complete a no-obligation insurance review us, we will send you a $5 coffee e-gift card to treat you to a coffee or a pastry if that is what you prefer!  As part of our referral program, we will also make a matching $5 donation to our agency’s ‘Charity of the Quarter’.  The purpose of this program is to help organizations close to the hearts of our employees while providing our customers the opportunity to not only receive a coffee on us, but to also help a worthy cause by referring their friends and family.  In addition, this also gives us the opportunity to promote awareness of these organizations in our communities through our online presence. 

Why Firefly Children and Family Alliance?

Each holiday season at WalkerHughes, we incorporate a service project into our holiday party so our team can serve the community while enjoying our time together. In the past, we have made blankets for local women’s shelters, had a canned food drive to feed food insecure youth, and made ornaments for a nursing home. This year, when looking for an organization to partner with, we came across Firefly Children and Family Alliance and filled stockings for children in the foster care system, children’s shelters, and waiting to be adopted across the state.

Typically, an individual WalkerHughes team member nominates our ‘Charity of the Quarter’ partner organization. But this holiday season was a little bit different. As we shared more about Firefly and our project with the WalkerHughes team, so many were called to help spread our donation further with Firefly. As a group, we decided they would also make an excellent partner organization to also receive our referral program donation.

About Firefly Children and Family Alliance

Dating back to 1835 when a group of central Indiana philanthropists originally founded the Indianapolis Benevolent Society, the Firefly history runs deep in our state. Over the years, the organization combined forces with other nonprofits to broaden their reach and make a larger impact on Hoosier children and families. Most recently in 2021, Children’s Bureau and Families First merged to become Firefly Children and Family Alliance.

Firefly provides an array of services and programs to Indiana families and children specializing in child abuse prevention, home-based services, youth placement, and recovery services. With 15 locations across Indiana, Firefly has served over 91,000 children in 2021. Their organization is built on the belief that giving kids and adults the chance to succeed creates stronger communities.

How Can You Help?

• WalkerHughes Customers: If a friend or family member mentions insurance woes or you think we could be of assistance to them, please send them our way!  We will send you an e-treat, hopefully help your friend or family member by providing them with a no-obligation insurance review and then make a $5 donation to Firefly Children and Family Alliance.
• Friends and Family of Firefly Children and Family Alliance: If you or any members of your team would like to review their insurance options with our team, let us know!  Simply mention ‘Firefly Children and Family Alliance’ and we will document that in our system and include a $5 donation to Firefly Children and Family Alliance for every referral. 
• WalkerHughes Employees, Friends, Family and Community Members: Please help us spread the word!!  We will have promotional material on our social media pages, if you could like, comment, or share that would help us increase our reach and get the word out.
