At WalkerHughes Insurance, community is at the heart of who we are—and it’s even more meaningful when we are able to support the causes close to the hearts of our team. That’s why we’re thrilled to announce our partnership with Recreation Council of Greater St. Louis as our Charity of the Quarter for Q1 2026!
About our Referral Program
At WalkerHughes Insurance, there is no higher compliment than a referral. A referral tells us we've met the mark—that our customers are satisfied with the service provided and trust us enough to recommend us to those closest to them. We know how important friends and family members are, and we promise to treat them like our own.
To show our appreciation, we’ve created a referral program with heart. For every referral that completes a no-obligation insurance review, WalkerHughes will donate $10 to our Charity of the Quarter. This program supports causes that matter to our team and helps organizations making a difference in our communities.
Why Recreation Council of Greater St. Louis?
The Recreation Council was nominated by Barb Schmidt, Account Manager based out of our Ballwin, MO office. Barb was profoundly touched after attending a Recreation Council hosted talent show to support her close friend’s son. The event was joyful and full of heart, leaving a lasting impression. The experience captured what this organization does best: creating spaces where individuals with developmental disabilities are celebrated, included, and free to be themselves. Barb left inspired by the sense of community and is proud WalkerHughes can support their mission.
About Recreation Council of Greater St. Louis
Since 1983, the Recreation Council has connected individuals with developmental disabilities to opportunities that enrich their lives. Their work goes beyond funding or information, taking a personal, hands-on approach to help individuals of all ages discover activities they love. Through community-inclusive programs, specialized recreation options, and camps, the Recreation Council matches participants with experiences that fit their interests and support needs.
To combat the isolation often felt at school or in the community, they create opportunities to have fun, build confidence, gain independence, and form meaningful connections, without expectation or comparison.
